1. About StatusNexus

StatusNexus is an Android application that allows users to view, save, and manage WhatsApp and Telegram statuses on their device. The app is developed and maintained as an independent product.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

StatusNexus does not:

Collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identity information
Upload, transmit, or store your media files on any server
Access your WhatsApp or Telegram messages, contacts, or chats
Track your location
Require account registration of any kind

All media files viewed or saved through StatusNexus remain entirely on your device.

3. Information Collected by Third-Party Services

StatusNexus uses Google AdMob to display advertisements to non-premium users. AdMob is a Google service and may collect the following data automatically:

Device advertising ID (a resettable identifier used for ad targeting)
Approximate location (country or region level, derived from IP address)
Device type, operating system version, and app usage data
Ad interaction data (whether an ad was viewed or clicked)

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by StatusNexus. We do not receive or store any of this information.

Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation

4. Permissions Used

StatusNexus requests the following Android permissions:

Permission	Purpose
Photos / Videos (Android 13+) or Storage (Android 12 and below)	Read WhatsApp and Telegram status media, and save downloaded files to your gallery
Biometric / Fingerprint	Protect access to the Vault feature (optional, processed entirely on-device by Android)
Notifications	Notify you when a download completes (optional, can be disabled in app settings)
Internet	Required to load advertisements via Google AdMob

No permission is used beyond its stated purpose.

5. Storage Access Framework (SAF)

On Android 11 and above, StatusNexus uses Android’s Storage Access Framework to access WhatsApp and Telegram status folders. This requires you to manually select the folder once. The selected folder URI is stored securely on your device using Android’s encrypted storage. It is never transmitted off your device.

6. Vault Feature

The Vault feature lets you hide selected media files into an encrypted local folder. Vault contents are stored only on your device using Android’s application-private storage. StatusNexus has no access to Vault contents remotely, and no Vault data is ever uploaded or shared.

7. Data Retention

StatusNexus stores the following data locally on your device only:

Saved folder access URIs (for SAF, encrypted via Android secure storage)
Your app preferences (dark mode, notification settings)
The list of files you have hidden to Vault
Download history (list of files you have saved)

You can clear all of this at any time by going to Settings → Apps → StatusNexus → Clear Data on your Android device.

8. Children’s Privacy

StatusNexus is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
